75th Anniversary of Porsche

Unless you've been living under a rock the past two weeks, you know that this June the world is celebrating the 75 years Porsche has been in business. In the past seven years we have been in business we've had over 200 of these amazing driving machines come though our shop.

We've see a wide range over the years, from a 1969 912, all the way to the most recent 2024 GT4 RS that was featured in our Under The Hood article. We are proud to help maintain and protect these amazing machines and are happy that we have been so lucky to get to witness some amazing evolutions within their design.

Throughout its 75-year history, Porsche has continuously pushed the boundaries of automotive engineering, introducing groundbreaking technologies that have revolutionized the industry. From pioneering the use of turbocharging to implementing advanced aerodynamics and electric propulsion systems, Porsche has consistently been at the forefront of automotive innovation.

How To Pick The Perfect Coating For You.

Professional ceramic coatings have emerged as a game-changer, offering unparalleled protection and a dazzling finish. However, not all ceramic coatings are created equal. There are different levels of ceramic coatings, each uniquely suited to meet the specific needs of a vehicle. The selection of the appropriate level and type depends on factors such as the car's age, usage, and desired outcomes. Let's explore the distinct levels of ceramic coatings and how they can be tailored to fit different vehicles.

For example, If your car sheds a lot of brake dust, and you have wheels with lots of space between their spokes, then a wheels off coating might be what you want. A wheel's off coating will help during the cleaning process so you don’t have to spend as much time washing them, and they will stay cleaner for longer as well.

If you have a family car, you know how fast small spills can happen, with an interior coating you can help maintain the look of your seats, and floor mats much longer, and due to the coatings hydrophobic quality those small spills won't set as stains as fast. An interior coating will also help protect your interior from UV rays, meaning you can help protect your leather seats from pre mature aging.

When it comes to protecting the exterior of your car, duration is always a key factor, if you plan on selling the car in a few years, then a 3-year coating might be plenty, however, if this is your dream car, and you plan on keeping it for the rest of your life, a 5 or 8 year might be more up your ally, these are great coatings for older dream cars as well, these coatings are thicker and built to last longer. It is important to keep in mind that coatings are not thick enough to protect from rock chips or scratches. When we say coatings offer protection, we are talking about things like small abrasions that can be introduced during the wash process and UV rays. This can be very handy when maintaining older cars, where the paint might not be as strong as it once was.

So many things can cause small abrasions on sensitive top coats of paint, the way you dry your car and the scrubbers you use. That's one of the reasons we talk a lot about how a ceramic coating can ease the wash process, not just due to the hydrophobic qualities of the coatings, but the second level of protection they can offer your paint during the wash, in addition to the UV protection as well. A ceramic coating is an investment into your weekly routine cutting your wash time in half and will increase the longevity of your vehicle's lifelong look.
