
As soon as we began to see the issues with COVID 19 affecting our country and quickly our local city, Austin, TX - we began to take precautions with how we operated, interacted and handled clients and vehicles.
However, as things got more serious and it was clear a countrywide shelter in place needed to happen to dramatically slow the impact of COVID 19 - we got more serious about it. Immediately upon the word being a Shelter In Place order was going to take place, we decided to close our doors. The orders were released and we read through every page.
It quickly became clear the order for businesses were very loose and businesses that could operate included our own, but although we could, we did not budge, and still opted to remain closed for business as it is the right thing to do.
As a business owner, with a family and an employer to several people we began to think about what we, as moral, integrity driven people should do. Legally, we can remain open - morally we believe we should be closed. With a business, we wish it was that clear, but when employees count on you to feed their families and we count on our business to feed our own family - we began to ask the question :
“How do we remain focused on our morals and integrity but still operate and keep people employed during such a difficult time for our country?”
We spoke with our employees, families, other business owners, friends and amongst ourselves to determine what the right thing to do is. We decided we would operate and remain open for business - but in a very different, protected method. We designed an approach that we believe keeps employees safe and comfortable, customers and community safe and keeps people employed and families fed.
Here is what we determined to be the best way to operate as long as we are able. We mutually agreed that if necessary - we will close our doors completely.
Our Covid 19 Process
Scheduling and Consultations:
- Scheduling and consultations must be done via phone, email, text or messenger
- Consultations may still take place but only on vehicles that have been dropped off and will be handled via phone
Vehicle Drop off:

- Vehicles will be dropped off via key drop box located at left of entry door, leave your car parked in front of the windows (Lysol wipes will be on top of drop box for cleaning as desired)
- Respond via quote messaging option/text/call that vehicle has been dropped off
Vehicle receiving:
- Team will wear gloves to open dropbox, and car door to drive car to the back of the shop
- Car will be wiped down with disinfecting wipes on handles and interior
- Ozone treatment on full interior prior to any work being complete will take place
- This process should have 98% effectiveness at sterilizing the inside and outside of the vehicle
Team safety:
- Shop will be wiped down morning and night with Lysol wipes on all handles, knobs, desktops etc
- Temp checks will occur with each employee every morning and recorded
- Any temps over 100.0* will be sent home with pay and asked to self quarantine
- Any employee is encouraged to stay home if they are frequently near those at high risk
- Teams will be staggered around the shop and at different times to keep distancing to a max
Vehicle Pick up:

- Prior to completion, every car is detailed inside and out as normal process
- Once detailed, a full Ozone Treatment will be done on the interior again
- Team member will wear gloves and face PPE to move car to front of building
- Key will be placed in keypad box and code will be sent to client
- Key will be in black box next to drop box with keypad to open (Lysol wipes will be present to clean as desired)
- Invoice to pay online will be sent digitally and can be paid via phone/computer with credit card
As mentioned, this is the safest method/process we could design while keeping everyone as safe as possible. We believe we are all in this together and all of us doing our part will help slow/kill the spread of the COVID 19 virus.
